Thursday, December 06, 2007 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM (ET)
IF YOU DIDN'T GET A TICKET, YOU CAN SHOW UP AND USE THE CASH BAR. FOOD AND ALL YOU CAN DRINK WILL BE UNAVAILABLE.
One Laptop Per Child has been working to create the "$100" laptop so kids around the world can have a chance at jumping the digital divide. They've begun mass production at the $200 level, which is a huge achievement.
Let's use our collective appetite for mingling, sushi and drinks to do our part for a great cause.
For every $200 we raise, we'll be funding the purchase of a laptop for a child. Half of these laptops will be distributed in 3rd world countries via One Laptop Per Child, while the other half will be distributed in the greater DC area via Greater DC Cares and their network of worthy community organizations.
